“Ferryside offers the perfect escape”
Feel a million miles away in this stunning beach house with panoramic views We've just enjoyed our third stay at Ferryside, and we seem to fall more in love with the property and location every time we visit. Situated right on the beach in the quiet village of East Portlemouth, Ferryside offers the perfect escape. And, when you want to venture to somewhere with a little more buzz, you just hop on the small passenger ferry (which conveniently pulls up right outside the property) and head over to Salcombe - a picturesque seaside town with a range of boutique shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. We always choose to visit outside of holiday season to make the most of the quieter beaches and to enjoy the tranquil scenery. Our days consist of wandering down the steps from our patio to what feels like our private beach, building sandcastles, exploring caves and going for dog walks along the beautiful hills surrounding the estuary. And, at the end of the day, there's nothing better than having front row seats to the estuary, with a glass of wine in hand, watching the boats glide by. The immaculate property is perfectly laid out for families and small groups, with a great open plan living area and good sized bedrooms, each benefiting from stunning estuary views. Every detail has been thoroughly thought through, even down to the huge relaxing bathtub - a perfect space for mummy to unwind! Thank you for such a memorable stay, we will be returning again soon!

Ferryside has superb estuary views from all of the South-facing rooms, including the lounge/dining area, family bedroom suite and double bedroom.

“Ferryside is in a fantastic location.”
We have stayed at Ferryside twice now, and hope to return this year. The house is clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for everyone. Ferryside is in a fantastic location, with wonderful views of Salcombe from almost every room, you certainly never tire of the view! Salcombe is easily accessed by the ferry boat, which runs very frequently. There are some wonderful walks from the house, the coastal walk to Gara Rock is our favorite.

“Most Perfect, romantic and memorable experience.”
Ferryside served as the perfect location for my wife the night before the wedding, meanwhile I sank the whiskies over at the Salcombe Harbour Hotel with my best men! On our wedding day, our dutifully suited and dressed guests boarded the ferry boat from Salcombe and arrived in small batches to make their way up to the church, the estuarial backdrop perfectly setting the scene for the day. Upon our return from the church service, the Salcombe Harbour Hotel was the perfect venue for the evenings celebrations. We then spent a further week at Ferryside with family and friends on a mini-honeymoon, and it was indeed the most perfect, romantic and memorable experience we can ever have imagined.
