Gara Rock Walk
Gara Rock walk starts at Mill bay on the East Portlemouth side of the estuary. You can either take the direct inland path to Gara Rock which takes you through a small woodland and then through a number of fields (second picture). The alternative is that you could take the coastal path. This path gives you incredible views over the cliffs and out to sea (first picture). It is advised that dogs are on the lead for this walk as the path does take you close to the cliff edge and its not fenced.
Snapes Point and beach walks
The left hand picture shows the view from Snapes Point. Travel over to Salcombe and head to Lower Batson where you can follow the headland around to Snapes point which overlooks the estuary. This walk will probably take around an hour and a half to complete however it is worth it for the views.
The right hand pictures shows the most popular dog walking location, the beach. You can walk down the balcony footsteps of Ferryside and from there either walk along the beach to Mill Bay or in the opposite direction towards South Pool Creek.
These beaches are privately owned so please pick up your litter.
